Last Wednesday, HandyGames managed to win the (in Germany) highly anticipated Deutscher Entwicklerpreis in the category Best Mobile Game 2008.
The German Developer Award honoured the idea to create the game as a fully-fledged prequel of the Gothic 3 plot and so bringing real role-play feeling on mobile phones.
“This price shows that you can make more out of a first-class licence theme than a branded Jump and Run", said HandyGames CEO Christopher Kassulke. "We are very proud about this award and about our whole team that has enabled this success with all their work and creativity first."
HandyGames CEO Markus Kassulke also annotated the win of the German Developer Award: "This award is a valuable decoration for HandyGames! The user's vote for a 2D-game proves that an exciting and diversified game play is more important to the gaming community as 3D-graphics on a mobile's display."
