Distimo has released a new report on App Store usage over a variety of platforms and the developers behind those platforms. One of the findings shows EU developers price their apps 49% higher compared to the US.
When looking at the Android Market, most developers reside in the US at 65%. The EU (excl. UK) holds 20% of the developers and 12% are located in the UK. Japan holds 3%. In the EU, apps are priced at $4.42 on average. This is 49% more than the US where apps sell at an average of $2.96. The UK average is at $3.31 and Japan at $2.28.
When comparing the average prices on various app stores, BlackBerry is the champion with an average selling price of $8.26. Windows Mobile follows at $6.99 and Apple takes third place with an average price of $3.62. Nokia takes fourth spot at $3.49 and Android is cheapest at $3.27.
