Android Market Reaches 10K Apps

September 10th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Android A small success for Google this week. Their Android Market has crossed the 10.000 apps bar. Sure it's not as much as the iPhone does, but it still means less competition as well.

This data comes from Androlib.com, a website that indexes the Android Market. According to the site, 64% of the apps are free downloads versus 35,8% paid (yes we want to know what that other 0.2% is as well). One reason for the lower number of paid downloads might be because paid downloads are still not supported in all markets.
