Google: Android Apps not Illegal

March 6th, 2012 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Current Affairs | No Comments »

Google responded to Tweakers.net about the claims from EU commissioner Viviane Reding about Android apps illegally sharing data with advertisers. Google states the claim is wrong as Android doesn’t handle data the way Viviane explains it.

The advertising networks are part of the apps themselves. As so, they only gain access to data the app has access to and in the end, the consumer always has to provide access. The advertising networks don’t share that data with their advertisers.
