Symbian announced to have a massive 100 million Symbian supporting devices in the market of which 13 million where sold in the last quarter. Symbian started in 2000 with the Ericsson A830. Currently Ericsson is joined by nine other vendors and those are backed by 250 operators world wide.

LG & Vodafone launch KU800

LG and Vodafone have launched the newest device in the LG Chocolate series with the release of the KU800. Main differences are support for UMTA, a boost to the camera which now is at 2 MP. Also it has a VGA camera on the front side for video conferencing. For gaming, the most interesting will be the possibility to insert external memory cards to boost the amount of content that can be stored and multitasking so consumers can keep on playing while on the phone with their friends and family.

Psp1It’s been a while since the first rumors of Sony developing a PSP phone hit the net, however in China it seems reality. Some company released a smartphone which has the looks & feel of the PSP, combined with calling options. Knowing Sony, they will probably try to get the device of the market as soon as possible.

Samsungx830 Samsung will release their phone/iPod mix-up in Europe soon to fire up the battle against the iPod even more. The device looks stylish and has loads of features that will make it a possible hit in the world of ladyphones. How to play a decent game on it will be a mystery to me though with the extremely thin screen and 2 column button lay-out.

Lgke320It seems to be a war zone in Korea as LG yet again launched a phone to attack Samsung. With the Chocolate they had already beaten the Samsung E900 to the market. This time LG aims for the Samsung P300 and Samsung P310 with the launch of the LG KE320. The KE320 combines the credit card like design with the style of the Chocolate. We ask ourselves how playable such a design is though

HTC vs. Asus

It seems there is a battle going on in Windows Mobile territories as it seems Asus is gaining market share over HTC. This is shown as O2 UK has announced that several of it’s new flagship devices will not be supplied by HTC, but Asus. First one up appears to be the Asus Mars II, which will be called the O2 XDA Zinc which looks like the HTC TyTn. Another one that will enter O2 is the XDA Graphite. Also developed by Asus. Asus also made a deal with Vodafone to bring them the VDA IV.
