Baidu to Build a Mobile OS

March 23rd, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

Baidu is pretty much the Google of China and as so, it is planning to build a mobile OS, pretty much like Google has done a couple of years back. There doesn’t seem to be any urgency behind it though.

The idea behind Baidu’s OS is based on the search engine itself. The OS would boot in a second and only show a search box. Everything starts there. What the OS will be based upon and what possibilities app developers will have is unclear.
